History
Catholic Cemeteries of the Diocese of Buffalo partners with St. John Kanty Church to manage St. Adalbert’s two cemeteries. Through this merger, the cemeteries on Dale Road in Cheektowaga and Broadway in Lancaster continue serving families with the same care and dedication that have defined them for generations.
To meet growing needs, the St. John Kanty Garden Mausoleum was completed in 2014, adding 368 crypts and 376 niches for cremated remains. A bronze statue of St. John Paul II crowns the columbarium in the new St. John Paul II Burial Garden, which will eventually hold more than 1,000 graves with monument and flush-marker options. The cemetery office also underwent a much-needed renovation that same year.
The St. Teresa of Calcutta Garden Mausoleum, finished in 2018, stands out for its higher profile and peaked roof supported by four pillars that give it a welcoming, church-like presence. A stunning mosaic on the west side honors St. Teresa’s lifelong devotion to the poor. Behind it lies space for 348 caskets and 240 niches for cremated remains.
We serve families throughout Western New York with seven cemetery locations, each providing consecrated grounds and compassionate care.
